The Financial Planning Specialist is responsible for assisting with financial planning processes and focusing on proactive client relationship management. You will work directly with senior financial advisors, clients, and prospective clients. This position reports to the Financial Planning Manager and works closely with all departments within the organization.
This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days in the office per week, with 1-2 days worked from home if desired.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the position include a cross-section of Financial Planning and Investment Management firm clients, including but not limited to:
Prospective Client Relationship Management:
Participate in prospective client meetings as an active participant in the sales process
Participate in new client onboarding meetings
Supporting preparation of meeting materials for high net worth/complex prospects
Assist with management of prospect pipeline
Current Client Relationship Management
Participating in client review meetings as an active participant in the relationship management process
Proactive & ongoing review and coordination of client’s financial planning needs
Debrief & coordination of follow-up tasks needed post-review meeting
Generating cash flow projections, social security analysis, etc.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this role.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial planning/investment management role, or undergraduate study and internship experience from a financial planning degree program.
CFP certification preferred; or have already begun studying for the CFP exam
Fully licensed preferred: VA L&H, Series 66, Series 7
Detail oriented.
Good communication skills; both verbal and written.
Sales skills a plus.
Strong analytical background necessary to complete client analysis.
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
