Responsible for reviewing and analyzing numerous, highly complex lines of business (e. g. including D&O, E&O, Employment Practices Liability, Medical Professional Liability, Contractual Liability and Cyber Liability). Underwrites individual risk for acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms and conditions. Leads in the development and integration of new and existing programs; identifies new program opportunities. Responsible achieving established goals for assigned programs. Acts as a subject matter expert in the development, improvement, and implementation of program best practices. Participates in making reinsurance decisions; assist in developing and implementing loss control and risk management strategies. Collaborates between business units for development and implementation of program specific tools (i. e. underwriting guidelines, forms/rate filings, etc. ) for new programs or modifications to existing programs. Communicates program updates to program managers and other business liaisons. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal business liaisons, external program managers, and brokers in order to generate premium dollars and profitability. Responsible for the training and mentoring of underwriting team members.

We are seeking someone with the following background:
Specialty lines including professional and management liability; transactional risk and financial institutions D&O/E&O a plus.
Ability to identify risk selection and define program appetite, has a technical underwriting background, strong broker relationships and marketing capabilities.
Experience with MGA/MGU’s and program managers

Key Specialty Lines experience in Transactional Risk (M&A, Tax, Accounting) and Intellectual Property Insurance.
Program leadership experience in professional lines of business is preferred.
Travel to brokers, audits, assist in marketing ideas and strategies, and participate in broker/PM events.
5+ years of professional liability insurance underwriting experience.
