We are looking for a Senior Accountant to work directly under our holding company CFO and oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions for MRK Technologies. The Senior Accountant will serve as the lead and single point of contact and all financial related matters.
Responsibilities include processing sales orders, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, calculating commissions to sales representatives and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment without compromising attention to detail or accuracy.
Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements (i.e. balance sheets, income statements, etc.), or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Maintains and balances accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
Calculate monthly sales commissions for assigned sales team members.
Serve as MRK Tech point of contact on all fiscal and administrative issues.
Report to TruWest management regarding the finances of organization.
Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current technology.
Monitor taxes owed and prepare necessary information to external accounting firms for preparation of all taxes, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
Work with key vendors on the establishment of appropriate credit terms.
Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
Serve as point of contact for any facility issues with MRK Tech or any tenants.
Monitor property management vendors and expenditures for MRK Tech HQ.
Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all accounting tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job.
An in-depth understanding of and experience applying GAAP.
At least 5 years of demonstrated experience as an Accountant, including experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, working knowledge of Great Plains preferred.
Advanced MS Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to function well in a team-oriented work culture.
